Sales through traditional channels are declining, and bicycle companies are looking for new markets. Meanwhile, cycle tourism is driving growing demand for bikes, components, accessories, apparel and services. Yet many manufacturers and distributors still know little about how tour operators, rental businesses, accommodation providers and destinations choose and buy.

To close this gap, Bikenomist is hosting the webinar “Cycle Tourism: the business case for the bicycle industry” on Tuesday 24 November 2026 at 3pm CET, in partnership with Venicepromex and the Padova Chamber of Commerce.

The programme covers the European bicycle market, the growth of the EuroVelo network with Agathe Daudibon (European Cyclists’ Federation), the economic impact of cycle tourism in Italy with Paolo Bulleri (ISNART), and what cycle tourists want with Paolo Pinzuti (Bikenomist). A panel on business models and ROI follows, with Stefano Crespi (Lokki), Stefano Giuliodori (Hotel Dori Riccione), Sebastian Perello (Wheelssport Mallorca) and other operators. Rentals get special attention as extended test rides: riders who use a bike on holiday judge it in real-world conditions, and that experience shapes what they buy next.

The webinar is designed for business owners and sales, marketing, product and business development managers at companies making or distributing bikes and e-bikes, components, accessories, cycling apparel, and fleet and rental solutions. It is also a first step towards the Cycle Tourism Show 2027, taking place in Padova on 19–21 March.

The webinar is held in English and is free to attend, but registration is required. The access link will be emailed one week before the event.
