2. What data we collect

Browsing data

The computer systems and software that operate this website acquire, as part of their normal operation, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. This includes IP addresses, browser type, operating system, referring domains, pages visited, time spent on each page and similar technical parameters. This data is collected only in aggregate, anonymised form for the categories of cookies that do not require consent, and in identifiable form only for categories you have actively consented to — see our Cookie Policy.

Data you provide directly

This is personal data you choose to share with us — for example your name, email address, company and message when you submit the "Get in touch" form, or your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter.

3. Purpose and legal basis of processing

  • Responding to your enquiries and managing our relationship with you (e.g. the contact form) — necessary to take steps prior to entering into a contract, or to perform one; no separate consent is required for this purpose.
  • Monitoring and improving how the website works — based on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service, carried out through cookies as described in the Cookie Policy, only after you have given consent where required.
  • Sending you the newsletter — based on the specific consent you give when subscribing. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • Sending you commercial communications about products or services similar to ones you already requested — based on our legitimate interest, and you can object to this at any time.

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of external providers to run this website and process data on our behalf: Google (Google Analytics 4, only with your consent), HubSpot (to manage the "Get in touch" form, only with your consent) and Zoho Campaigns (to manage newsletter sign-ups, only with your consent). These providers act as our data processors or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not sell your personal data. Where we run joint initiatives with partners or sponsors (for example around the Cycle Tourism Show), we only share data relating to those specific initiatives and only with your consent.

5. International data transfers

Some of the providers above may process data outside the European Economic Area (for example, Google and HubSpot operate global infrastructure). Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards recognised by the GDPR, in particular the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, to ensure your data continues to receive an adequate level of protection.

6. Data retention

Browsing data collected for statistical purposes is retained according to the retention periods set by each provider — for Google Analytics 4, up to 14 months (see the Cookie Policy for details). Data you provide directly (contact form, newsletter) is retained for as long as needed to respond to you or for the duration of your subscription, and in any case no longer than necessary to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can ask us at any time to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • erase your data, where it is no longer needed for the purposes it was collected, you withdraw consent, or processing is unlawful;
  • restrict processing in the cases set out in Art. 18 GDPR;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest — including, always, for direct marketing purposes;
  • receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, or have it transferred to another controller (data portability).

You can also withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali).
