Last week I attended a tourism event in Arezzo and spoke with many tour organisers. Almost all of them told me they now always include the bicycle in their trips.

Why? Because a bike ride makes people feel good — it helps them relax and use their free time better.

Carlo Cascione, who created the tour operator Salento Bici Tour, said something interesting in his interview for the "From Bike to Business" podcast:

"In the future we will no longer say 'cycle tourism'. We will simply say 'tourism', because the bicycle will be a normal part of every trip."

More and more people have realised the bicycle is a simple solution to many complex problems — the latest ISFORT report says bicycle use in Italy grew 26% in the past year.

But do you know who still hasn't understood this? In many cases, the people who sell bicycles — and keep selling the wrong ones. That's the focus of the latest podcast episode with Guido Rubino, one of the greatest bicycle experts in Italy.

I've been an entrepreneur in this sector for 13 years, and if there's one thing I've understood, it's that treating the bicycle only as a sports item is the best way to hold the industry back.
