Last week I attended a tourism event in Arezzo and spoke with many tour organizers.
Almost all of them told me that they now always include the bicycle in their trips.
Why?
Because a bike ride makes people feel good.
It helps them relax and use their free time better.
Carlo Cascione, who created the tour operator Salento Bici Tour, in the interview for the podcast “From Bike to Business” said something interesting:
In the future we will no longer say ‘cycle tourism’.
We will simply say ‘tourism’, because the bicycle will be a normal part of every trip.
More and more people have realized that the bicycle is a simple solution to many complex problems, and in fact the latest ISFORT report says that bicycle use in Italy has grown by 26% in the past year.
But do you know who still hasn’t understood this?
In many cases, those who sell bicycles and continue selling the “wrong” ones. And this was the focus of the latest episode of the podcast with what I consider to be one of the greatest bicycle experts in Italy, Guido Rubino.
LISTEN NOW
I’ve been an entrepreneur in this sector for 13 years, and if there’s one thing I’ve understood, it’s that continuing to treat the bicycle only as a sports item is the best way to hinder the growth of the industry.
P.S.
This week the “early bird” rates for exhibiting at the Cycle Tourism Show expire, and I believe that once again this year we will sell out all available spaces.
Happy Riding to everyone.
