It was in 2013 when we first brought the concept of Bikenomics to Italy at CityTech, a conference event in Milan as part of which we managed to gather the greatest European experts on mutually complementary topics who could make logical sense of a discipline that was on the verge of being born. Four years later, the issue has become a subject of public interest, and the bicycle economy has become a factor that many European countries are leveraging for their economic development.

Today we are honored to announce that, thanks to the collaboration with Prof. Edoardo Croci, we were able to bring the topic inside Italy’s most prestigious university of economics, Bocconi, where on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, a conference entitled “Bikenomics: the state of the art, potential and future developments of the bicycle economy in Italy” will be held

From 2:30 p.m. Speakers will include:

– Edoardo Croci Coordinator GEO Policy Table IEFE – Bocconi University

– Alfredo Drufuca, Managing Director – Polinomia srl
– Holger Haubold, Economic and Financial Policy Officer – European Cyclists’ Federation
– Paolo Ruffino, Advisor on Bikenomics and evaluation of urban planning policies – Decisio

Leading European studies on the topic, local best practices including a novel study conducted on the metropolitan city of Bologna that aims to begin to define the return on investment on cycling will be presented for the occasion.
